Homemade Applesauce
We made Homemade Applesauce! The students helped to measure all the ingredients. It was so yummy! Take a look.
Apple Taste Testing
We took our students on a field trip to the Apple Orchard. As a class we taste tested the three types of apples, Granny Smith (Green), Golden Delicious (Yellow) and Red Delicious (Red). Which one do you think was the favourite?
The first week of school can be very busy. Here are some ideas to help you transition back:
Activities:
1. Classroom Management Activity. Read 'David Goes to School' or How Do Dinosaurs Go To School. Use these picture cards to talk about the expectations in the classroom.
2. Read 'The Kissing Hand'. In a talking circle discuss how the students felt when they came to school. Paint their hand and they can color the appropriate face.
3. Read 'Rainbow Fish' discuss as a class the importance of sharing and what a good friend means. Create on big fish and have the students each made a scale to add to the fish. How can you be a good friend? Display it in the classroom.
