Classroom Management

At the beginning of the year classroom management is so important. One of the activities our class did was to make 'Talking Sticks'. We learned about First Nations and how they use the talking stick to help solve conflicts. Using the teacher talking stick we took turns role playing and practiced waiting our turn to talk until we had the stick. This is a great activity to practice especially when students are angry or upset with each other. Once we came back to class I had a center for them to create their own talking stick.
